ANNUAL Hunger Mass FRIDAY, February 19, 5:30pm Mass
Our Parish Lenten Journey begins at a unique time when Covid-19 is currently affecting so many aspects of our daily lives. The Social Concerns Annual Hunger Mass will reflect on our blessings and pray for all “food insecure” individuals and families in our parish communities. The donations received from the collection will go to the John S. Mullholland Family Foundation, offering low income individuals and families fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, chicken and seafood. The following parishes will receive the donations: St. Thomas More, (Blessed Sacrament’s Sister School and Parish,) St. Vincent de Paul, St. Luke and Holy Name.
Baskets will be at the main entrance to the church from Ash Wednesday through Sunday, February 21, to collect your food donations.
God bless you and thank you for your prayers and donations during this Lenten Season. If you are unable to attend the Hunger Mass on Friday, February 19th at 5:30pm, and you would like to make a donation, kindly send your donation, made out to Blessed Sacrament Hunger Mass, to Pat Kavanaugh, Director of Social Concerns and Outreach, 3630 Quesada Street NW, Washington DC, 20015. You may also drop a check in an envelope into the Collection Box and label it, Hunger Mass.
