FAITH IN THE MARKETPLACE “SPECIAL” – FOR BOTH EDUCATION AND THE WOMAN WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
On Friday, September 8, after the 6:30 a.m. Mass, is the gathering of men and women parishioners to explore how others live and practice their faith in the marketplace. Our speaker is longtime parishioner Francesca Pellegrino, an advocate for children and youth with disabilities who is the founder of Washington’s Catholic Coalition for Special Education and is recognized as a leader in inclusive education for Catholic schools. She took over the leadership of the parish disAbilities Ministry from the Carl Ruppert Family. Francesca took inspiration from her Catholic faith and took action to begin transforming Catholic schools into model centers of inclusive learning where ALL students – both with and without disabilities – benefit academically, socially and spiritually -- a vivid demonstration of practicing faith in a critical “marketplace.”
All are invited and urged to bring a friend, Friday, September 8, to the Duffy Center for an intriguing and insightful discussion of inclusive special education in Catholic schools
