On Friday, October 7, after the 6:30 a.m. Mass, is the gathering of men to explore how others live and practice their faith in the marketplace.
Our speaker is Dan Collopy, a long-time BS parishioner building a pro bono legal program for SOME, Inc., McKenna’s Legal Advocates, to provide legal services to clients served by SOME, The Father McKenna Center, Martha’s Table, House of Ruth, and Sursum Corda—all programs founded by Fr. Horace McKenna, S.J. Dan helped build the Federal Government Pro Bono Legal Program during his 30 years litigating cases for the National Labor Relations Board’s Contempt & Compliance Litigation Branch and managing several regional offices for the NLRB’s Division of Operations-Management. In 2006, Dan was named the D.C. Bar’s Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year.
Please join us next Friday, October 7, for Dan’s observations on working full time for the past four years with D.C.’s poor.
