Anyone who is seriously ill or preparing for surgery is encouraged to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Although many people associate this sacrament with those who are close to death, in fact it should be given whenever the graces of healing and forgiveness are needed. If you would like a priest to visit someone who would benefit from this sacrament, please call the parish office at 202.966.6575 at anytime of the day or night. Also, those who are ill will benefit from receiving the Eucharist. Please see below for further information on arranging for someone to receive the Eucharist at home or in the hospital.
If you or someone you know is in the hospital and would like to be visited or would like to receive the Eucharist at home please call the parish office at 202.966.6575. Also, if you have a relative or other loved one in one of the local nursing homes or assisted living facilities located within Blessed Sacrament Parish or in the area, we will ensure that he or she is visited as well.
