The Annual Hunger Mass will be held on Friday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m., celebrated by Father Foley. As we begin Lent, we are reminded of those living in our own community who are food insecure and we contemplate the Gospel, which commands us to make the necessary sacrifices to care for them. This year, during a continued pandemic, the challenge is much greater with even more families coming to us for food.
There will be a SPECIAL COLLECTION taken up at the Mass to support the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation, which provides the food to operate food pantries in the poorest neighborhoods of the Arch- diocese — at Holy Name, St. Francis Xavier, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Luke, and our sister parish, St. Thomas More. Your donation will be used to purchase perishable food, such as fresh produce, milk and eggs, meat and poultry. If you are unable to attend Mass, please consider a donation — visit MulhollandFamily.org or write to Mulholland Foundation, 1629 K Street, NW — Suite 300, Washington 20006.
