To Parishioners of the
Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament – Young & Elderly!
The fruit of silence is prayer. The fruit of prayer is faith. The fruit of faith is love. The fruit of love is service. The fruit of service is peace.” Mother Teresa
We are all at a very specific time and place while being called by Jesus to be of service to others so peace may reign in the hearts of all humankind! In these days of turbulence many are unsettled, afraid and alone; yes, even in our own parish’s neighborhoods! That’s why our Pastor, Fr. Bill Foley, asked me to reach out to you to see if you would share your love, time and talents with your suffering neighbors, who are homebound, by being part of a parish network.
Kindly consider volunteering as part of the new Telecare Ministry (formerly called Blessed Sacrament Cares 4 U)! As a member of this out-reach network you would contact via telephone various homebound parishioners such as the elderly, widows, widowers, single parents, sick/disabled and others in need to have a friendly caring conversation while offering to pray with them, etc.
Reaching out to others during these coming weeks will certainly reduce their fear, confusion and loneliness.
Note: we DO NOT want you to physically visit the folks you would be contacting! (Yours and the other person’s health and safety are key to the success of this out-reach ministry!)
Parishioners willing to be part of the TeleCare Ministry are requested to respond via e-mail to me, Deacon Leo at:

Members of our various ministries like Sodalities, K of C, Extra-Ordinaary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist, etc., may well be positioned to move forward with this challenge. However, this is also a time for parishioners who may not yet be connected to a particular ministry to accept this challenge, reach out and be Jesus to someone very much in need!!!
You, my brother and sisters, have the opportunity to bring the Peace and Love of the Risen Lord to others in need living in or near your neighborhood! And I should add that when you pray with the homebound make sure that you ask them to pray for you and your family also. Your reward will be great!!!
In the Name of Jesus may you and your families be Healed!
Praise be Jesus and Mary,
Deacon Leo C. Flynn
