Cub Scout Pack 90, right here at Blessed Sacrament, is one of the oldest Cub Scout Packs in the city with a long history of connection and service to the Blessed Sacrament parish and neighboring communities. We’re planning a robust calendar of events for the 2024-2025 school year and are focused on growing the number of boys who would like to be a part of the Pack where they learn about leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and sportsmanship skills.
Our first meeting of the year will be on Friday, September 13th, 2024 at 7:00 PM in the BSS Auditorium and is open to all boys and families interested in joining or just learning more about Scouting with Pack 90. Please feel free to contact Anthony Angelo at [email protected] with any questions you may have.
Our Scout troop, right here at Blessed Sacrament, is one of the oldest in the city, and at nearly 102 is actually slightly older than the school. The academics, the social connections and friendships, and the involvement with sports are all key elements. For over a century, too, Troop 90 has also been a strong part of Blessed Sacrament school and parish. The benefits of Scouting are vast, but the leadership skills, in particular, are in many ways unique and not as easily found in other school activities. High school admissions counselors typically have a “separate pile” for boys involved in Scouting as they know the type of character traits these applicants possess. College admissions act similarly, and there are many college scholarships available to Eagle Scouts, in particular. More than anything, though, Scouting really is fun! Whether going on a weekend hike, or camping trip, or going on some of the high adventure trips in the summers—hiking in the New Mexico mountains, scuba diving in the Caribbean, or canoeing through the boundary waters in northern Minnesota—Troop 90 and Scouting have a lot to provide.
You are strongly encouraged to come, along with your 5th to 8th grade son, to one of our meetings held every Wednesday in the first floor of the Parish Center at 7:30pm. You can meet the Troop and the parents and learn more about what Scouting might offer to your son. Please come by anytime and check it out. No obligation. No scouting experience necessary.
Come join the adventure – where the best part of reaching your goal is the journey!

Join Troop 90 at Goshen Scout Reservation in southwestern Virginia - the 2024 dates are coming soon!
The camp is located in an idyllic setting, approximately 2 ½ hours southwest of Washington and is, bar none, the best value for a sleep away camp you' can find. Over the course of the week, the boys swim, hike, learn to cook and work as a team, and work on various merit badges. It is a terrific introduction to Scouting, and we have a good core of Scouts going this year already, so please consider joining us. The cost is $575 (early bird registration discount in April) for the week which covers everything.
Girls interested in making new friends, serving others and trying new things - from nature and camping, to arts and crafts, to making brown-bag lunches for the homeless - are invited to join the Blessed Sacrament Girl Scout program. Scouting builds confidence, leadership and self-esteem by encouraging girls to learn to do things for themselves and to master new skills. Parent participation is expected.
